According to a project story published by the European Commission, iASiS is an EU-funded project which used insights from patient date for precision medicine approaches. It combined various data such as information for medical records, imagining databases and genomics data to enable more personalised diagnosis and treatment for lung cancer and Alzheimer’s disease, where personilised therapy is essential. This project has lasted for three years and brought together 10 partners from 5 different countries, it coordinated by NCSR Demokritos and was completed in June 2020.
Thourgh the iASiS project, researchers developed an Articicial Intelligence platform to support researchers and policy makers by combining and analysing data from various sources: hospital patient records, genetic databases and literature.
