Joint Programming Initiative “More Years, Better Lives” (JPI MYBL), in which the Canadian Institutes of Health Research partners, published the outcome of its project entitled Ageing and Technologies: Creating a vision of care in times of digitization.

The report emphasizes the results of the project, which investigated the use of technological innovation in the area of ageing and care across various countries in Europe. The project goal was to focus on the needs of older peoples rather than on technology. In order to achieve this, a vision of what good care of elders would look like was defined, before considering what digital technologies might (or might not) contribute to achieving this.

The project used the rights defined in the European Charter of Fundamental Rights as a framework for analysing the relevance of technologies and established that a common international approach on the topic of technologies in care is possible.
