It was recently announced that the European Commission opened the second set of calls for proposals of the Digital Europe Programme. The calls are open to businesses, organisations, and public administrations from the EU Member States, EFTA/EEA countries, as well as entities from other countries associated with the Programme.

This funding will see an investment of over €249 million in several areas: data spaces, European blockchain infrastructure, training courses for advanced digital skills, digital solutions for better government services, projects piloting the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to fight crime and AI testing facilities. The latter will test AI for manufacturing, food, health, and smart communities. Furthermore, an investment of €43 million worth of grants will support cybersecurity in the health sector and the deployment of a network of centres to help Member States implement relevant EU cybersecurity legislation.

The deadline for these calls will be 17 May 2022. More information on the application for grants under this set of calls for proposals is available online. Further calls under the Digital Europe Programme are expected to be published in the summer of 2022.
